a bit about luck...

Luck has nothing to do with it! Life is what you make of it.
Luck is a game we play, a way of easing the burden of having to be responsible for every thing that happens to us. Luck is an apparency, not an actuality.
Apparencies are what we create in order to have interest in games we play, but they are not actually (factually) true other than we all agree on them. Actualities are also apparencies but they are fundamentally more intrinsic to us as Life than mere agreements to the rules of a game. In other words, we can create a game of football, for example, and have the rules be whatever we want - an apparency - but underlying the game of football are certain actualities that cannot be denied - like having players to participate in order for there to be a game at all. These are but a few examples of the differences. This intelligence is mostly my opinion, but it does give pause to living life totally as an Effect or victim, and not at Cause; at Cause one can determine the outcome of his/her own life better, and perhaps make better choices.

By working in a positive direction, many times we can have good things happen to us. One could view this as an illusion or luck. Maybe a little of both.

Frederick, to me "positive" or "negative" are simply opinions. Life is meant to be played in its fullest sense; life is a game.
Now, if something is more destructive than constructive across a full spectrum of life's urges toward survival...that would normally be considered negative by most observers; in fact (actuality), it IS negative in that light.
In every construction there is some destruction.
