blowing confusions about Internet Marketing...

By Ron Kule

I confess. I'm the kinda guy who walks into an electronics retailer or an online format expecting to learn something or even buy something and I end up walking out empty-handed and confused. Too many choices, not enough definitions.

Blogs and social commentary I can write; in fact, I love to write creatively whether fact or fiction. It's the understanding of how to simply earn a living with it online that escapes me. Is there anyone out there willing to take me by the hand, so to speak, and help me get my legs under me about how to earn online so I can keep writing - without having to sell my something! - and kiss my sales career goodbye forever?

By the way, I am willing and able to teach others to sell easily and effectively, and my available sales training manual and workshops are designed and proven winners. They just need me to figure out how to make a writer's living viably, beginning on a shoestring budget.

Help?!

Hi Ron:

I am struggling to get paid jobs myself, but the writing is fun so for now, writing is its own reward.

I agree, Nora, writing has its own rewards.

Hi Ron.

You can do both, or so I've heard and read. If you are sincere about what you sell and why, and you are sincere about what you write and why, the selling and the writing compliment each other in the long run.

Why do you think all of these article-writing blogs talk so much about quality? I know that quality is often in the eyes of the beholder, but it's the effort to produce that quality that matters. As a matter of ethics, you want to give value. This giving of value establishes your reputation. Your reputation over time will allow people to want to look for you and what you have to offer. Then word of mouth takes over. You are in this for the long haul - not quick fixes and fast bucks. I am NOT an expert, but this is what people keep telling me. Market yourself in an ethical value-driven way. Write the best articles that you are capable of writing and learn from your writing experience. Give value without worrying about "giving the store away". Believe in what you do and say.

In a practical sense, the more articles that you write, the more backlinks to your website you get. Not only that but people will visit your profile and your website. Not only that but other article blogs may pick up and publish your articles on the web. The right kind of article at the right time can go viral on the web. This helps to get visitors to your site where you can tell your story and share your success secrets with more people.

Don't look for the quick fix. You are more likely to get burned than helped. Keep doin' what you're doin'. Blog on lots of sites. Create your own blog on Wordpress or Blogger. Comment on other people's blogs in a sincere manner. Concentrate on helping people. Refine what you do and how you do it as you go and learn from your mistakes and experiences. You'll do fine.
Regards, Jim

Jim, your sincere andrelevant comment is appreciated here. I strongly believe in an ethical and value-added approach. Locally I meet a lot of people at luncheons for networking, and from those meetings I have built up a list to which I send a weekly "sales/marketing tips" email. So far these have been well-received since I have simply designed my messages with helpful information, not selling anything.
Thanks again for your advices.

I appreciate you honest approach,Ron.
I know that being a newbie, as I am, is very frustrating to say the least. I also think that Jim has given excellent advise and together, we'll make it.
Best wishes.
Frederick
