haiku poetry
By Ron Kule
Haiku is a form of written poetry associated with Zen or Eastern philosophies. It is uniquely associated with the Japanese culture and has been so for centuries. The basic rules are these: 3 lines, 5-7-5 syllables, must have some reference to the environment, should have a "zen-like" point of view expressed. I prefer to write haiku where it can be read both forwards and backwards - where you can start with either the first line, or with the last line. Sample of mine: moments remembered share streams of time creations changed like the seasons.
