some art creation tips

By Ron Kule of sales training services inc.

Art is an interesting subject because it encompasses all that we can perceive and appreciate about Life.

All Life is Art, particularly if viewed from different points of view. As the saying goes, "One man's Art is another man's garbage" so the viewpoint from which you view an art piece or a part of the environment is important in whether you consider it art or not.

A red sunset can be considered romantic and inviting and a beautiful thing to see, but it is also an indication of pollutants hanging in the air, through which we see the reddening sun star.

So...is all "art" what we see or can experience only, or is it really something else? Is it the feeling we get when we view it, or hear it, or internalize it...or maybe none of these?

What is Art?

Whatever we see, feel, or experience communicates to us on different levels - so maybe art is communication. Maybe it is not the object viewed or the melody notes we hear; maybe it is only the communication we experience as a result of the object of art known to exist. In other words, maybe it is not the actual Mona Lisa painting we like as art, but the communication - what it communicates to us - that we know as art.

I think art is intimately tied in to both the object and the communication from it, a sort of subjective understanding when something just hits us in a certain way that it makes us feel we are experiencing real "Art."

Contributor's Note

Is Art the object or the subjective feelings we get when viewing or experiencing an artful communication?
